Hey Guys, since it seems the admins are likely busy, I'm going to propose some alternate RP threads. Now I want to make it clear, these threads are in no way bearing upon the plot/setting that is central to the forum. Actions in these threads of course have no bearing upon the main RP.
For the most part, I have no objections to you playing cannon characters, approved characters and if you have an unapproved character PM me about it and we'll see if we can work something out.
However, I want to make it clear. Any such threads hold no bearing upon the main RP and plot, they exist at the complete whim of the actual people running the forum and it is of course up to them if they continue if/when they get back.
Right now I just want to gauge some interest if anyone thinks this is a good idea, or if people still want to wait to RP. It's up to you, please post here and let me know what you think.

Here was the setting I was considering running.
Although Avatar Aang defeated the Firelord, and the world is perhaps a more peaceful place, but by no means at peace.
The destruction wrought by Firelord Ozai has left the Earth Kingdom weak and divided. Earth King Kuei has not returned to rule, and this has left no clear heir to the throne of Ba Sing Se as he is without children. King Bumi of Omashu serves as regent for now, for he is backed by the order of the white lotus who took the city at the wars conclusion, and he possesses a powerful enough of a title that the aristocracy must acknowledge it. How long this situation shall remain is unknown, given Bumi's age is in excess of a hundred years, and even the order of the white lotus cannot police all of Ba Sing Se, even more so since the official dissolution of the Dai Li. Many of the order have families and other duties in the world that they must attend to, which is even more of a strain upon the city suffering problems that have been building over the centuries
The retaking of the city has left the Agrarian Zone in shambles, combined with the influx of refugees from the war, has left many in the city looking towards rioting and tearing down the higher rings. Worse, while the lower levels of the city riot, the many of the noble factions waging subtle political wars for their right to the Earthen Thone of the once invincible city. Rumor has it, that some former members of the Dai Li are secretly aiding certain candidates for the throne, although nothing can be proven.
However many in the Earth Kingdom simply do not care for Ba Sing Se, as years of a mainly ceremonial rule have been cast away. The various city states have seceded, preferring to fend for themselves, given the lack of support during the war and subsequent burning at the hands of the Fire Nation. The Bei Fong family is among these groups, their lands having suffered massively during the war of which their daughter who was a hero in the war, has yet to hear the news. This has divided much of the forces of the Earth Kingdom, which in turn has lead to other problems from afar.
The Fire Nation is also in a dire straights, despite the newly crowned Firelord Zuko, many in the Fire Nation still feel the war should continue. The Earth Kingdom is divided and this is the perfect time to continue a bid of world dominance, as the Fire Nation still possesses great military might, even though the designs and designers of some of their choice weapons seem to have vanished mysteriously at the conclusion of the war.
A century of hate and armed conflict is not easy to bring an end to overnight, and years of an education system teaching it's people of the inferiority of the other cultures can't be simply resolved in a blink of an eye. Many of Ozai's former generals refuse to bow to the new Firelord, for many different reasons. Some proclaim that he lost Agni Kai to his sister Azula and only defeated her with the aid of a Waterbender. The claim he has no right to the title given he was banished by his father twice. The princess herself remains locked away at the asylum island of Hanliu, but Zuko's detractors conveniently proclaim Zuko lying about her insanity, just so he can hold onto power. A large section of military troops situated in the northern lands of the Earth Kingdom have refused to relinquish control of these lands, and indeed seem bent on building their own Fire Nation, rather then serve under Zuko. Many in the Fire Nation have left to join them, and civil war may soon seem inevitable.
The Water Tribes have fared the best in this new world, but even they are in the midst of turmoil. The Northern Tribe has sent vast fleets of Waterbenders to aid and reunite with Southern Tribe, however even they have not been immune to unscrupulous pirates and Fire Nation attacks of those opposed to prince Zuko's reign.
The traditionalists of the Northern Tribes sneer are resentful of reuniting with the south, whilst the more liberal minds (particularly the women of the North) are seeking an overhaul of the political structure. As many of the soldiers protect the fleets, the once "inferior" women have been left to take on the jobs of the men, which is in turn leading to a suffrage movement among them, which has thusfar remained peaceful, but for how long?
Rumor speaks of a woman who once outcast by the tribes for learning the arts of Waterbending in secret, seeking vengeance upon those who banished her, and that some of the tribe have sought her out, to learn the skill denied to them for so long now. tiring of the non-committal attitude of many male masters. They remain just rumors, but some wonder if pirates are the only reason parts of the fleet have vanished.
The southern tribes are rebuilding, and beginning to reunite with those who are part of the exodus from the North, and of course the integration of the two peoples is taking time. However both acknowledge that they will be stronger for it, so long as they can protect the fleets.
However the most disturbing of all is the situation regarding the Avatar himself. The issues that have arisen in the mortal world have been tempered by the power and words of Avatar Aang. His actions and word words some few years ago have been the glue that has held the world together and stopped the world from plunging into utter anarchy. However, one dilema plagued Aang, as last of the Airbenders and has prevented his active involvement in mortal affairs, for he knows should he depart, the Avatar cycle would cease in three generations and thus has been hesitant to directly involve himself. A close assassination attempt in the Northern Fire Nation lands, from an unknown arrow has made him realize that even he is not invincible. Thus after giving stern but just words of his peaceful desires to the rulers of the world, he proclaimed he would partake a divine pilgrimage to visit the various holy places of the world. Place where he could commune with the spirit world and seek their divine wisdom regarding the state of the world with his dearest Katara. However, they have been gone for some time, and this has been met with trepidation.
None know the truth yet, but the Avatar has lost his way in the spirit world and only his closest dear Katara knows where his mortal body dwells. She has left him alone, for she does not know how to bring him back and his spirit is in distress, somehow managing to talk to his beloved and friends in dreams and visions, not knowing how to return the mortal world. She has begun a quiet crusade, to somehow find those few who could perhaps enter the spirit world, and bring him back, before the world begins to doubt in his power and collapse into anarchy and war again.
and all the while, upon the eastern seas and small group of travelers, from an unknown lands across the seas come closer to landfall. Guided by visions of their own, in search of their lost oracle. This group possessing skin, red, black and pale in color and possessing strange mannerisms and equally different means of bending the four elements, may hold the key to the Avatar's return and peace for the world, or perhaps, inadvertently cause a new kind of war.
Needless to say, Aang would not be a playable character, which for the most part is not only a matter of balance but also to make the plot more interesting, that we don't have a divine savior to deal with the various problems of the world in short order.
As far as the last part of the setting, I'm still working out details and cultures. Let me know, it's still in the works.
